Our Story

How Glassworks Auto started

Glassworks Auto began with a simple complaint: most detailing products are either watered-down drugstore filler, or $200 pro-only kits built for people with a garage and a free weekend. Neither felt right for a driveway on a Tuesday evening.

So we built the middle ground. Ceramic coatings that go on in fifteen minutes instead of an afternoon. Interior tools that actually fit a normal trunk. Kits priced for one car, not a fleet.

What we actually care about

Two things, mostly. The first is that a product has to work the first time you use it, without a technique video and without a machine buffer. If it needs a learning curve, it does not belong in a driveway.

The second is that we would rather tell you what something does not do. Our spray coatings are quick-detailer grade, not permanent professional coatings, and we say so on the product page instead of quoting a durability number we cannot stand behind. You will find that written into the FAQ too. It costs us a few sales and saves everyone the disappointment.

How we choose what to sell

Every product we sell, we have used ourselves. On our own daily drivers, in our own driveways, in real weather. If it does not earn its spot in our own trunk, it does not make it into the shop. That is also why the catalogue is short. We would rather carry ten things worth owning than eighty that pad out a page.

We are not chasing show-car miracles. We are chasing the fifteen minutes that make your actual car look like one.
